The design of the bowl incorporates an inner bowl and an outer bowl with bumper to create the maze so that when the ants enter into the outer bowl they lose the sent of the food and search elsewhere. The bumper keeps the inner bowl away from walls and grass etc. The only way to the food for the ants is through the maze where they lose the scent of food.
